Holiday Goodwill Effort Helps Improve the Lives of Local Kids and Protect the Environment

The Museum Of Motherhood and Second Chance Toys Team Up to Rescue and Recycle Plastic Toys

In an effort to make a meaningful difference emotionally and environmentally, SCT-Flyer-Holiday-ColorSecond Chance Toys, a charitable organization, and Museum Of Motherhood teamed up this holiday season to distribute more than (insert number) gently used plastic toys to children in need at Second Chance Toys in New York City.

“We are so appreciative of this donation, especially at this time of year”.  The children at our center, many who come from homes with limited resources, benefit from these toys in so many ways – emotionally, intellectually and physically.”  – Joy Rose, Founding Director, M.O.M.

Multiple research studies confirm that toys inspire play which is critical to the healthy development of children. Yet, many plastic toys are disposed of when they could be enjoyed by a growing number of children who go without.  According to the National Center for Children in Poverty, nearly 12.5 million children under the age of 6 in the

United States live in low-income families; nearly a quarter of these children live in families with annual incomes below the federal poverty level.   Given the nature of plastic, these toys show little signs of wear and are still in good working condition.  Help us give to those in need this Holiday Season. Bring toys to the Museum Of Motherhood anytime from Dec. 1-16th, 2012
